Set up your payout account

Initialize your Payouts Portal, add transfer methods, and configure automated withdrawals.

The Payouts Portal requires a one-time activation separate from your FastSpring app account. You must complete this process to link your bank account and receive funds.

Prerequisite: Ensure hyperwallet.com and mail.hyperwallet.com are added to your email provider's allow list to receive activation notifications.

Activate your account

You can activate your Payouts Portal account in the FastSpring app at any time, or you will receive an email notification to activate your account after the first time your FastSpring Payouts account is funded.

  1. In the FastSpring app > click your [Store Name] (top right) > Account Summary.
  2. Under the Payment Method section, click Activate FastSpring Payouts Account.
  3. On the FastSpring Payouts account registration page, enter your Seller ID and click Continue.

Note: Find your Seller ID in the FastSpring app under your Username (top-right) > Profile > Company ID.

  4. Select your Account Type: Individual or Business. We recommend selecting the account type based on the bank account you plan to transfer your funds into.
    • If you select Individual, you will need to enter your national Tax ID (Non-US Citizens) or Social Security Number (US Citizens).
    • If you select Business, you will need to enter your business registration number or EIN.
  5. Enter your Account Profile details as requested, ensuring the information is accurate and matches your government ID. Click Continue.
  6. Enter your phone number (we recommend using the same number you used to create your FastSpring account).
  7. Create your Password and Security Questions, select the checkboxes for the Legal Agreements, and click Continue.
  8. Tax Verification:
    • If prompted, select your appropriate Taxpayer Identification and click OK.
    • On the eCommunications Disclosure page, select the checkbox and click OK.
    • Complete any final Taxpayer Identification details, select the Electronic System Submission checkboxes, enter your name, and click Confirm.

You will be automatically redirected to the Payouts Portal home page to add your transfer method.

Add a transfer method

Your first task in the Payouts Portal is to define where you want your funds sent.

  1. In the Payouts Portal, click Add New Transfer Method on the home screen.
  2. Select your Country/Region and Currency. The available options below will update based on your selection.

Select the method that best fits your banking needs:

PayPal

Digital Wallet Funds are sent to the PayPal wallet associated with your portal email.

Venmo

Mobile App (US Only) Funds are sent to the mobile number associated with your account.

Bank Account

Direct Deposit / ACH Funds are deposited directly into your local checking account.

Paper Check

Physical Mail A USD check is mailed to your registered address.

Wire Transfer

International Wire Funds are wired globally via the SWIFT network.

MoneyGram

Cash Pickup Funds are sent to a physical MoneyGram location.

Tip: If you select Wire Transfer, we strongly recommend sending the Hyperwallet Relationship Letter to your bank. This authorizes recurring international transfers and prevents your bank from flagging the funds.

  1. Click the tile for your preferred method (e.g., Bank Account) to open the configuration form.
  2. Enter your account details. Ensure the Beneficiary Name matches your bank statement exactly to prevent transfer failures.
  3. Click Continue to save the transfer method to your profile.

Note: Payoneer is not a supported transfer method. However, most Payoneer functionality (local currency accounts) is handled natively by our Payouts Portal.

Manage your transfers

Once you have configured a transfer method, you must decide how funds will be transferred from the portal to your bank. We strongly recommend Auto Transfer to prevent funds from sitting idle.

Set up Auto Transfer

  1. In the Payouts Portal, click Transfer (top nav).
  2. Next to your saved Transfer Method, click Action > Create Auto Transfer. The Auto Transfer page opens.
  3. Configure your Auto Transfer settings:
    • Auto Transfer Enabled: Check this box.
    • Transfer Period: Select Every day (pushes funds immediately upon receipt) or Monthly (pushes funds on a specific date each month).
    • Transfer Method: Select your transfer destination and enter the allocation percentage. Click the Save button next to the percentage field. The button will change to Remove to confirm the setting is saved.
      • Rule: If you are using multiple transfer methods (e.g., Bank and PayPal), the total allocation must equal 100%.
  4. Click More Options » to expand additional controls:
    • Minimum Balance: Optionally set a balance threshold (e.g., $100) so transfers only occur when you have accumulated a certain amount.
    • Additional Currencies: Check all applicable currency boxes (e.g., EUR, GBP, AUD). This ensures split payments in foreign currencies are automatically converted and transferred, rather than being stuck in your balance.
  5. Click Confirm at the bottom of the form.
Disable Auto Transfer

To stop automatic withdrawals:

  1. In the Payouts Portal, click Transfer.
  2. Next to your active Auto Transfer method, click Action > Update Auto Transfer.
  3. Uncheck the Auto Transfer Enabled box.
  4. Click Confirm.
Complete a Manual Transfer

Use this method if you want to time your transfers to maximize foreign exchange (FX) rates.

  1. In the Payouts Portal, click Transfer (top nav).
  2. Next to your saved Transfer Method, click Action > Transfer To [transfer method]. The Transfer Funds page opens.
  3. Enter an Amount less than or equal to the Available Funds in your FastSpring Payouts account and click Continue.

The portal will show you the real-time conversion rate and total fee before you confirm the transfer.

Troubleshooting delays

If your payout is delayed or fails, check the following common configuration errors:

Incorrect banking numbers

If your Routing, Sort, or IBANs are off by a single digit, the receiving bank will reject the transfer.

  • Fix: Log in to the Payouts Portal, click Transfer, and verify your details against your bank statement. You cannot edit a saved method; you must add a new one with the correct numbers.
Beneficiary name mismatch

International banking rules are strict. If your Payout Portal account is registered as "John Smith" but your bank account is "J. Smith LLC," the transfer may fail.

  • Fix: Ensure the Account Holder Name in the portal matches your bank statement character-for-character.
Intermediary bank changes

If you utilize an intermediary bank for international wires, these institutions sometimes change their routing paths without notice.

  • Fix: If a previously working wire suddenly fails, contact your bank to confirm their current intermediary instructions and update your Payout Portal settings.
