Manage reseller partners

Account administrators can perform all administrative tasks for reseller partners, including adding new partners, adjusting their credit limits, and controlling which products they can resell.

The sections below detail how to create the partner, set their credit limit, and share products. Select a section or use the TOC on the right to jump ahead.

Create a partner account

Follow these steps to manually create and approve a reseller partner account.

1. In the FastSpring app, go to Partners.
2. Under the Actions section (right), click Add Partner.
3. In the Partner section, fill out the information of your partner's reseller store. The Company is the name of the store.
4. Under Contact Information, provide the First Name, Last Name, Email, and Phone Number of the partner in charge of the reseller store.
5. Click Create. The partner will receive an email containing their access information.

Note: Alternatively, direct a partner to https://sites.fastspring.com/reseller-store-example/signup to sign themselves up. They can begin selling as soon as you manually approve them!

Reseller partner access

Once created, each reseller will have their own FastSpring app login with access to:

• Available Licenses: The products you have added to their reseller store.
• Available Credit Usage: The remaining balance of their credit limit before they must pay for purchased products.

The reseller can create orders for customers within the app and enter customer information to issue licenses and fulfillments.

Add a credit limit

In the FastSpring app, go to Partners. Click on the reseller’s name to access their information. At the top of the page, under Order Settings, select a credit limit option:

• No credit limit. Always requires an immediate payment. Resellers must pay immediately to receive access to your products for resale.
• Delivery occurs without immediate payment until the credit limit has been reached. Resellers may receive products until the credit limit (set by you) is reached. If they reach their credit limit, customers will not receive fulfillments until they pay off some or all of it.

If you choose to enable the credit limit, enter your desired Credit Limit Value and click Save. You can adjust this setting in the future.

Share a product

For your reseller to see the products in their dashboard, you must configure a Link Source Price Condition and assign the price to the partner store.

1. In the FastSpring app, go to Catalog to view the Products and Pages section of the reseller store. Select the product you want to share with your reseller to access its details page.
2. Under Actions, click Edit Price. Click on the listed price.
3. Under Conditions, click Edit.
4. Under the Add Condition section, select the Link Source Condition radio button. Then, click Next. The Add Link Source Condition page opens.
5. In the Link Source section, select the checkbox of each reseller store you want to add the product to.
6. (Optional) Under Advanced Restrictions, you can further restrict the condition by entering a Link Source URL Tag or a Link Source Campaign.
7. Click Create.
