Complete the requirements to move your store from Test mode to Live mode.
Build and test your store for free in Test mode (a sandbox environment). When you are ready to accept live payments, follow this guide to activate your store.
Get started
Complete these three stages to move your store from Test mode to Live mode to begin processing real transactions. This process ensures your store is technically sound and compliant with global financial regulations.
Build your catalog. Set up your products, pricing, and fulfillment actions in the FastSpring app.
Connect your site. Verify website compliance, choose a checkout style, and run a test order.
Move toLive mode. Coordinate with our FastSpring team to verify your identity and activate your store.
Configure your store
Define your product offerings and provide the business details required for FastSpring to act as your Merchant of Record (MoR). All tasks in this section are managed within the FastSpring app.
Create your products
Configure the one-time products or subscription plans you intend to sell. To activate your store, you must create at least one offering.
Navigation: In the FastSpring app > Catalog > choose Subscription Plans or One-Time Products
- Select your product type
Click Create Product or Create Subscription in the top-right. - Configure pricing and names
Follow the steps to set up your one-time product or subscription plan.
Note: Ensure product names and unit prices exactly match the information on your public website. Our team will validate this during the store activation review.
Assign fulfillment actions
Fulfillment actions automate the delivery of digital products immediately after a purchase. You can configure multiple actions for a single offering.
Navigation: In the FastSpring app > Catalog > Select your product > Fulfillment > + Add Fulfillment
Select the fulfillment type that best fits your product:

Note: FastSpring’s automated receipts already include relevant license and download details. Custom email fulfillments are typically not required.
Complete business details
FastSpring manages global tax and compliance requirements on your behalf. Providing accurate business information ensures your account is eligible for review and future payouts.
Navigation: In the FastSpring app > Click your store name (top-right) > Account Summary
- Sign the FastSpring User Agreement
Under the Terms and Agreement section, click USER AGREEMENT to review and digitally sign your contract. - Complete your tax profile
Under the Tax Information section, click Manage Tax Information > Add Tax Information to submit your W-8 or W-9 form. - Prepare business verification
Ensure you have official registration or identification documents ready for the final activation stage.
Prepare your website
Verify that your website meets global compliance standards and is technically ready to process orders. This stage ensures a seamless transition from your pricing page to the secure payment environment.
Finalize website compliance
To pass the store activation review, your website must meet these transparency standards.
- Add required legal pages
Ensure your website includes clear links to your Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy. - Match pricing and product names
Confirm that the product names and unit prices on your website match the configurations in your FastSpring catalog.
Choose your checkout style

Note: Your store must have one Default Checkout (always a Web Checkout) to style the customer Account Management Portal where buyers manage their own subscriptions.
Place a test order
Confirm your checkout setup is working as configured by simulating test orders. This ensures your fulfillments and notifications fire correctly before you go live.
Navigation: In the FastSpring app > Checkouts
- Launch your test environment
Go to Web Checkouts > Links or Popup Checkouts > Preview to open your store checkout inTestmode. - Complete a successful purchase
In yourTestcheckout, select the Credit/Debit card payment method and use the test success card number4242 4242 4242 4242with any future expiration date. - Verify fulfillment delivery
Confirm that you received the customer notification email and that the license keys or downloads you configured were delivered correctly.

Request activation

Store activation is a collaborative process between you and your dedicated FastSpring team.
- Contact your FastSpring representative
Reach back out to the representative who contacted you during signup to let them know you have completed your store configuration and website preparation. - Complete the final review
Your representative will walk you through the remaining requirements to activate your store, including KYC (Know Your Customer) verification. - Switch to
Livemode
Once approved, you can toggle your store status fromTestmode toLivemode and begin processing real transactions.
